Larry D. Hill is the Founder and CEO of Hill Security Institute, LLC. He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and currently resides in South Florida. Hill recognizes that his road in life wasn’t easy. He was raised by his grandmother, the oldest of three siblings. Living in a single-family home he inherited responsibility at a young age of 8 years old to take care of his siblings while his mom worked night and day to provide for the family. Hill grew up in one of the most underprivileged, economically, and socially challenged urban housing development on the Westside of St. Louis, Mo. Hill's upbringing gave him the passion to want to give back to the community. And, to remind him to never forget where he came from. Hill is making good on that passion by creating Hill Security Institute.

Most of his career is highly noted and regarded among his colleagues and community leaders of Memphis, Tennessee. Hill holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Christian Studies from Union University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Hill has 30 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety. Hill garnered a reputation as a stellar leader and achieved the ranks, such as Chief Inspector, Acting Inspector, Captain, Lieutenant, and Sergeant. Hill exceptional work experience were exemplified in various divisions, bureaus, and special operations that consist of correction, narcotics (detective), a member of the elite Special Weapon and Tactics-(SWAT) team, community policing (detective), gang unit (formerly known as the street crimes unit), Burglary, Robbery and Auto Theft Squad (BRATS) (detective), training, fugitive, courts, and Community Operations-School Support Services.
As Hill became closer to his retirement in 2014, he started implementing his plan and strategy towards his future journey to fulfill his purpose, dreams, and goals. All of which are fueled with his commitment to community service and education; especially, safeguarding schools and keeping children safe. His commitment to education lead him to serve as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College, and later Dean of Students and Director of Security at Franklin Academy. Hill is one of the first School Armed Guardians licensed in Florida under the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Act.
Hill knows the value of hard work, dedication, perseverance, excellence, resilience, quality service, integrity, and professionalism. Hill Security Institute is built on those traits and stands committed to having a highly qualified and experienced team of trained professionals to provide the best training today for a safer tomorrow.
